Even from a distance, the peaks of the Lake District have a way of displaying their power and majesty, especially when accompanied by an approaching storm.
Shot with a very long lens from the shores of Windermere at Low Wray, I really like the way the clouds are starting to intrude on the lowering peak tops of Great Langdale, whilst the plantations in the foreground belie a softer, gentler side to the fells.
Don't be fooled; you can see half way up the fell sides on the right of the frame the 'dividing line'. beyond which no trees exist, even with human intervention....and the help of hungry sheep!
